About Right To Play

Right To Play is an international children's aid organization. It provides effective help for self-help in 14 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. They raise the necessary funds for their programs in 7 countries. Right To Play teaches children skills and vital knowledge through play and sport. Especially in places where poverty, illness and war dominate everyday life, play and sport are effective ways of giving children a bit of normality and a start to a better future. They work closely with local organizations and education ministries to strengthen the structures for this in the long term. Local Right To Play employees train teachers and coaches from partner organizations in play-based teaching methods. In addition, families and communities are sensitized to children's rights issues and the children's environment is actively involved.

The Right To Play Mission

Right To Play’s mission is to protect, educate, and empower children to rise above adversity using the power of play.

The Right To Play effect

Creating demonstrable change is the raison d'être of an aid organization. Rigorous impact measurement and transparent communication of results are therefore an integral part of every Right To Play program.

After more than 20 years of experience in development cooperation, one thing is certain: play works!

  • A game of catch explains malaria.
  • A game of football promotes peace and teaches important values such as tolerance and teamwork.
  • A Play Day connects children from refugee camps with host communities.
