Proper braking has to be learned. That's why we promote and support safety courses for scooters and kickboards worldwide. In these courses, riders not only learn proper braking techniques and safe cornering, but also improve their overall understanding and awareness of potential hazards and the rules and regulations that govern the use of these popular modes of transportation.
Through our partnerships with local organizations and community groups, we offer comprehensive and engaging safety workshops tailored to the needs and abilities of different age groups. Whether it's a beginner course for young children or an advanced course for experienced riders, our safety workshops cover all the essentials of safe and responsible riding.
Impressions from the Micro Scooter Kids Day in Switzerland:
How Micro and René Lauper promote children's safety and coordination skills
René Lauper, an experienced safety sports instructor, has one mission: to teach children about safety through sports. As project manager of the Micro Scooter Kids Day, he has already been able to teach 74,312 young participants about the safety aspect in a fun way.
Lauper's involvement began when he was asked by the BFU (Swiss Federal Office for Accident Prevention) to help prepare children for road traffic by means of safety courses. He took on this task with enthusiasm, as around 500,000 children in Switzerland ride their scooters to school every day and safety on the way to school and in their leisure time is of great importance. René Lauper has already conducted a total of 3,462 workshops in 16 cantons, educating children about the ten golden micro rules in road traffic.
The workshops focus on improving the children's coordination skills and abilities, promoting balance and recognizing dangers in road traffic. Children are also taught how to behave on a scooter. The course lasts a total of 90 minutes and is organized and accompanied by René Lauper. Thanks to his many years of experience, he can impart valuable knowledge to the children.
"What I like most about Micro Scooter Kids Day is the interaction with the kids and also the opportunity to teach kids from kindergarten age to 3rd grade how to get to and from school safely." René Lauper shares.
He enjoys teaching the little ones how to steer, brake and ride their scooters safely and effectively. And the enthusiasm when the children make progress is also reflected in René Lauper - for him it is a project of the heart! The children are always enthusiastic after successful course participation and master road traffic with increased self-confidence.
All in all, Micro Scooter Kids Day makes an important contribution to promoting children's safety on the road to school. Lauper's commitment is a shining example of how a simple idea can become a successful project that has a major impact on children's lives.
